The Chairmanship Candidate of All Progressive Congress, in Ndokwa West local government area of Delta state, Hon. Engr. Ben Chuka-Amuta has sought for the modalities used in the disbursement of the Federal Government N570B Intervention Fund recently released by President Bola Tinubu.

The APC Chairmanship candidate disclosed this in a recent open letter to the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The letter reads:

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON THE N570B INTERVENTION FUNDS TO STATES BY PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU

I hope this letter finds you in good health. Recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced, in response to the recent violent demonstrations, a series of measures to alleviate the impacts of the subsidy removal. Among these measures was the distribution of N570 billion to the thirty-six states of the Federation, alongside 20 trucks of rice for each state. Despite this, there has been no official communication regarding the receipt and utilisation of these resources in Delta State.

While we appreciate the President’s initiatives, the lack of transparency from the state government has led to widespread speculation and concern among our citizens. There is a pressing need to clarify how these funds and resources have been handled to ensure accountability and build public trust.

I respectfully request that you direct the Commissioner for Information or the relevant media office to provide clear and detailed information on the following points:

The date on which Delta State received its share of the N570 billion intervention funds.
The exact amount allocated to Delta State.
The method used to distribute these funds among the 25 local governments in the state.
Specific details on how the funds have been disbursed to the citizens, including the identification of beneficiaries.
Whether any portion of the funds has been allocated to ongoing capital projects within the state.
The date on which the state received the 20 trucks of rice.
The planned timeline and process for distributing the rice to the citizens of Delta State.

It is crucial that the people of Delta State are fully informed about the allocation and use of these funds and resources to prevent misinformation and ensure transparency in governance.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will address these concerns promptly and provide the necessary information to the public.

Sincerely,

Hon. Engr. Ben Chuka-Amuta
APC Chairmanship Candidate
