Earlier today, the Ukwuani Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede, received in audience the Executive Secretary of the Ukwuani LGA Primary Health Care Authority (PHCA), Dr. Oshike Azuka Hilary, and senior medical staff of the Authority on an advocacy visit in his office.
During his interaction with the team, the #DoMoreAgenda Torchbearer applauded them for their contributions and humanitarian services in furtherance of his administration’s Improved Primary Healthcare Service Delivery across the LGA.
Barr Ajede highlighted the importance of the forthcoming Measles Campaign and the need for children within the LGA that are also within the specified age bracket to be immunized.
He therefore called on community leaders and stakeholders to join in sensitizing their people to make their children and wards available for the campaign adding that, it is for the benefit of the children, families, communities and the LGA at large.
Speaking further, Barr Ajede reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing Mobile Hospitals in the LGA that will take healthcare services to the doorsteps of the Ukwuani people.
He noted that Primary Healthcare Service Delivery is at the core of the Council’s responsibilities to the people and, according to him, his administration will make an indelible imprint in the sector.
Meanwhile, the Ukwuani Council Boss has admonished the Executive Secretary and staff of the PHCA to synergize with his #DoMoreAgenda to better serve the Ukwuani people.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Secretary of the PHCA, Dr. Oshike, congratulated the Executive Chairman on his reelection and subsequent inauguration, while pledging the loyalty and support of the authority to the Ajede-led administration.
In his encapsulated presentation, Dr. Oshike briefed the Chairman on the forthcoming Measles Campaign in the LGA, the plans in place; he emphasized the importance of the campaign to Ukwuani communities and also appealed for more support from the Council to enable the authority to effectively reach out to the people.
Dr. Oshike also informed the Council Boss of IMPACT project – a World Bank sponsored project that is aimed at improving and strengthening of the health sector in Nigeria that is currently ongoing in 10 health centers across the LGA.
