The Chairman, Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. DCN. Joseph Otirhue, has noted that with local government financial autonomy, LGAs have no reason to underperform.
Otirhue disclosed this in Asaba while speaking with Journalists, that the financial autonomy to local government is great relief to states, adding that Delta state has already granted financial autonomy to local government before the pronouncement.
He added that, in line with the state governor’s MORE AGENDA, and push for massive infrastructural development, there is a need for LGAs to follow suit, and have no excuses not to perform.
He said, ” to develop their local government, that’s why they were elected, even during the previous administration, 80% of the local governments were active, and projects were being commissioned, now that they are on their own, they better keep the momentum going”.
Hon. Otirhue lauded the state governor for the significant progress across the state, especially putting smile on the faces of Deltans through empowerment to create wealth.
