Delta state commissioner for water resources, Dr. Isaac Wilkie on Tuesday said there is significantly improvement in clean and potable water supply across Delta state, saying it won’t go into uninformed argument with those criticizing the ministry.

Addressing journalists on the issue earlier raised as a concern during a stakeholder’s meeting, the commissioner explained that the water resources ministry has done enough in the area of providing clean and potable water across the state.

He said recent progress in water supply has improved over the years from what it used to be.

Speaking on the activities of the ministry in 2025,the commissioner noted that priority will be on expanding existing water projects.

He said; “the ministry will be focusing on sustaining and expanding existing water projects, you see what we have done in 2024, and it is still ongoing, and we are still doing more, I can assure you that before the end of the year, we will have more, but in 2025, our projection is to do more expansion”.

“The ministry’s strategy would focus on reactivating existing water schemes rather than launching new projects, there are a lot of water schemes in the state.

“We are not looking to do new projects but to reactivate the ones that are already on the ground because we noticed that we have water schemes all over the state. Virtually every community in Delta State will see the presence of the ministry of water resources”.
