The Oborevwori led administration is not resting on its oars as contractors are placed on their toes to ensure quality jobs are delivered to the people of the state as at when due.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring/Audit, Engr. Dr. Goodnews Agbi, who went on inspecting some projects in Isoko North, Uvwie and Okpe Local government areas of the state, expressed satisfaction towards the level of jobs achieved in all the project sites visited.
Areas visited for inspection were; College of Nursing Ovurode in Isoko North LGA, Construction of faculty of Medical science Delta State university of technology Ozoro, construction of DSC link road off Ughelli Patani road in Uvwie, maintainance of Uti road/U-turn at Ugbomoro in Uvwie LGA, Reconstruction of Olomoro-Igbide Road in Isoko North LGA and the dualisation of Ezesi road Orerokpe, in okpe LGA.
Dr. Agbi who went round these sites with the aim of getting contractors to deliver quality and long-lasting infrastructures, said “Since morning we have being on the road, we started from Ovurode, we saw the structure that is going on there, that is what the governor promised the isoko people. They are bringing school of health technology into the community. Work has started, and it is going on very well at a very fast pace, from there we went to olomoro- Igbide road, where the contractor is also doing very well.”
“From there we came to DSC link road, then to Uti road/U-turn at Ugbomoro where we have pointed a few errors before the army checkpoint to correct that place, infact, he is going to remove most of the alsphat, fill very well with hardcore because every checkpoint is always the problem traction, once a trailer or a heavy vehicle stops at a checkpoint, when it want to go, it scarifies the soil and removes the alsphat. It is not a major problem to be corrected and then of course, we are at the dualization of Ezesi road in Orerokpe. All the projects we inspected are very, very good, and they are also up to space, and this exactly what the MORE AGENDA is all about.”
“Very good roads, good workmanship. We went through seven projects ongoing in the state just only in one day. In other LGAs, similar things are ongoing, as usual weekly we always go to the projects.”
Dr. Agbi however, called on aggrieved Deltans who are yet to feel the impact of the MORE agenda to be patient as development will get to them in no time as he charged workers on site to always have on their protective equipments.
Some concerned Deltans who met the entourage, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for doing a good job, but complained about the contractors been too slow at the pace of the contracts awarded them.
The Special Adviser in response to the complaint raised, promised residents that work would be completed in no time and all corrections will be done as according to him, “the Governor does not want any bad job at all. His Excellency want a very solid job.”
