The Managing Director, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Festus Ochonogor, on Sunday disclosed the that the commission complement the state governor’s MORE AGENDA in Developing the six oil producing communities in the state as set up by law.
Chief Ochonogor stated this on Sunday 8 of December 2024, at the 17th media friendly hangout organized by NUJ state Council in Asaba. Delta state capital.
Giving a hint on the commission mandate, chief Festus Ochonogor, said, the state government is committed to addressing the plight of oil producing communities, and tackling issues of environmental degradation, and underdevelopment.
Chief Ochonogor further noted that the commission have achieved so much in regard to providing critical infrastructure and human capital development with over 250 youths empowered with start-up capital of N500, 000 each.
Earlier, The chairman of the Delta state council of NUJ Comrade Churchill Oyovwe lauded the DESOPADEC MD for its transparency and dedication to development.
Comrade Oyevwe explained that the media journalist hangout initiative is a platform for fostering mutual understanding between the media and stakeholders, adding that underscored the importance of collaboration and open dialogue in driving progress within Delta State.
