Delta State Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Hon.Etacherure Ejiro Terry has commiserated with the people of Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, over the dastardly event which led to the loss of lives and properties.
The high powered delegation consisted of the Deputy Governor Sir. Monday Onyeme, Dr. Kingsley Emu (SSG), Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Onojaeme, The Bureau Commissioner, Director Delta State Fire Service commission, Dr. Eugene Oziwele as well as officials of Delta State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) who were on ground to conduct an on the spot assessment.
According to reports, the diesel tanker suffered a brake failure and fell at a traffic light junction, resulting in a massive explosion that burnt persons to death including the driver of the truck leaving other persons suffering various degrees of injury, razing down buildings and causing others to lose their source of livelihood.
“This devastating event caused by a tanker is truly heartbreaking, Lives lost, properties destroyed, and the physical and emotional scars left behind. My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and the entire community that has been affected by this tragedy. It’s impossible to imagine the fear and panic that must have gripped the people near the fire.”
Similarly, The Honorable Commissioner and his team advanced to another disaster scene at General Leo Irabor street, Agbor Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State,a scene of another fire incident Which took place in the early hours of Sunday, where he also commiserated with the victims.
“The Oborevwori’s led administration frowns at any mishap that brings pain and anguish to Deltans, It is indeed a terrible situation and on behalf of My principal H.E Governor sheriff Oborevwori I sympathize with all.” Etacherure Stated.
