Operative of the Nigeria Police in Delta State, CP Assignment Team has nabbed suspected kidnappers in Ogwashi-Uku, Ubuluku, and Isseluku while acting on credible intelligence on the activities of some suspected kidnappers.
This was disclosed in a press release that was made available to newsmen in Asaba by the Police Public Relation Officer, (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright, on the 31st of July 2025.
The statement also noted the Operative of the RRS also arrested a suspected cultist and recovered one Beretta pistol and curtist regalia
The statement reads: “Acting on credible intelligence on the activities of some suspected kidnappers in Ogwashi-Uku, Ubuluku and Isseluku, on 27/07/2025 at about 0120hrs”.
“Operatives of CP-Special Assignment Team ( CP-SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson in a combined effort with operatives from the command’s X-Squad and Buffallo Patrol Teams of the command stormed a suspected criminal hideout along Ibusa Road and effected the arrest of a notorious suspected kidnapper known as Chiadiji Collins, AKA “Smooth,”‘m ” 42yrs, who has been on the command’s watchlist for a series of kidnapping activities within Ibusa / Ogwashi-Uku and Asaba axis”.
“Upon interrogation of the suspect, he led operatives to his residence at Ewulu community in Aniocha South LGA, Delta State, where a search warrant was executed, during which one AK-47 rifle, forty (40) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered.”.
“Preliminary investigation also led to the arrest of one Ezechie Andrew of the same community in whose possession two (2) pump action and two (2) live cartridges were recovered.”.
“Both suspects are gang members suspected to be involved in a series of kidnappings in Ogwashi-Uku, Isseluku and other parts of Delta State. They are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”.
Also, “On 30th of July 2025 at about 0630hrs, operatives of the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) while acting on credible information, stormed a criminal hideout at Big Gate, Campus iii, Abraka where one Benjamin Okwufulueze 21yrs, Augustine Ifeanyi 22yrs, Iruma Japheth 27yrs, were arrested and one fabricated beretta pistol with four live ammunition were recovered”.
“Also recovered were one black cap with Eiye inscription and one battle axe. Suspects confessed to being members of Eiye Confraternity. They are all in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”.
“The commissioner of police, Delta State CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, urges parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from all forms of criminality and cult related activities and also advises members of the public to contact the police and report any suspicious persons or movements in their environment.”.
