The traditional ruler of Udu Kingdom, Okporua 1, Ovie of Udu Kingdom, Engr. Michael Orugbo, has described the engineering profession as a noble profession that makes things happen for the society to be comfortable.
He made the description when the executive members of Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) Asaba branch paid him a courtesy visit in his palace at Udu, Udu Local Government Area.
The engineering profession, according to him, is a profession of service to humanity.
The royal father called on the youths in the locality to follow the footsteps of their forefathers to enable them to be at peace at all times and equally progress.
Youths, according to him, should embrace engineering for life to be better for them and the nation at large.
While thanking members of NSE Asaba branch for the visit, show of love to him, engineering profession, and the entire Udu kingdom, he prayed to God to continue to protect them and bless them through their profession.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) Asaba branch, Engr. Ikechukwu Osunde, said they were in the palace of the royal father to identify with him and congratulate him on his ascension to the revered throne of the Udu kingdom.
He said the engineering profession is one that thrives on integrity, precision, and responsibility, adding that these same virtues are at the core of traditional leadership.
The royal father, according to him, has demonstrated that leadership is not only about titles but about impact.Engr. Osunde said members of NSE Asaba branch deeply appreciate the wisdom the royal father brought from both world, ensuring cultural preservation while championing progress, development, and empowerment of his people.
He said the reign of the monarch would continue to inspire both young engineers and the wider community to believe that greatness lies in service, humility, and dedication.
Osunde said it was the virtues of leadership and outstanding contributions of the royal father to the engineering profession that inspired members of NSE Asaba branch to pay him a courtesy visit.
