I did read recently that Anioma referendum would be coming up soon. And, as usual, I laughed aloud, enjoying the joke. Many people are not aware that I have gained a lot from the Anioma propaganda; it has sharpened and enhanced my literariness and creativity. And my spirit of patriotism as well.
Some pertinent questions:
- Do the people understand
what referendum means? - When exactly is the
referendum taking place? - Is the referendum taking
place in Nigeria? Or is it
happening elsewhere? - Which body is organising
the exercise?
•Will the referendum take
place this year or next
year?
•Is it taking place side by
side with the 2027
elections? - Are human beings going
to participate in the
exercise? - Are Ukwuani – Ndosumili
people part of the deal?
The agitation for Anioma state creation is, in my opinion, a locus classicus of a wasted energy, and a misdirected venture. And I am right, yes.
