It was a moment of pride, honour, and celebration for the entire Umuseti Community on Sunday, 12th October 2025, as two of its illustrious sons Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine and Chief Chris Onah were conferred with revered traditional titles at the Obi Ndueze, the ancient and central meeting ground of the Utagba Uno people, before the distinguished Inotu Council of the seven quarters.
Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine was bestowed with the prestigious title of Eze Ajieh of Utagba Uno, a position historically reserved for men of integrity, proven character, and unwavering dedication to the preservation of the people’s cultural heritage. The title, which has been held by only a select few of the most respected leaders in Utagba Uno, including Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Chief Mike Onah symbolises honour, wisdom, and service.
On behalf of the Umuseti Community and the Umu Ezeti Town Hall Platform, the Coordinator, Chuks Ododo, extended heartfelt congratulations to Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine, describing his investiture as a well-deserved recognition of his exemplary leadership and enduring commitment to community development. He appealed to the new Eze Ajieh to use his position with wisdom and fairness to safeguard Utagba Uno from land grabbers, strengthen traditional institutions, and drive sustainable progress and unity among the people.
On the same historic occasion, Chief Chris Onah was also installed as the Eze Ugo I of Utagba Uno. The event drew leaders, elders, and community members from all seven quarters, who witnessed this momentous recognition of Chief Onah’s humility, service, and devotion to the well-being of his people.
In his congratulatory message, Chuks Ododo, speaking on behalf of the Umuseti Community, described Chief Onah’s elevation as a testament to his integrity and dedication. He encouraged the new Eze Ugo I to lead with wisdom, courage, and vision, qualities essential for fostering unity, integrity, and shared prosperity in Utagba Uno.
Both titles, deeply rooted in the heritage and governance of Utagba Uno, mark a renewed call to service for the honourees. Their investiture symbolises the trust and confidence the community places in them to uphold its values and lead by example.
The Umuseti Community, the pride of the Utagba Clan, rejoices in the achievements of these two sons, whose honour brings glory not only to their families but to all Umuseti people. Their recognition reaffirms a timeless truth: when you empower a man of integrity and vision, you empower a whole community.
Congratulations to Eze Ajieh, Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine, and Eze Ugo I, Chief Chris Onah may your reigns be guided by wisdom, unity, and enduring progress for Utagba Uno.
