The Senior Policy Adviser to the Delta State Governor on SERVICOM and Labour Relations, and State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon has urged party members in Delta State to unite behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, arguing that delivering the president at the polls would expand political and developmental opportunities for the state.
Hon. Funkekeme stated this on Thursday during APC Delta Mandate stakeholders meeting held at the official residence of Hon. Onwo in the Legislative quarter, Asaba,
He noted that Delta APC was united behind Governor Sheriff Oborevwori following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
He explained that, the Governor’s decision to join the ruling party demonstrated his confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and vision for the country.
He said “We are here because we are all APC members. Our leader is the Governor himself, who had the boldness to collapse the PDP structure and join the APC because he was convinced of the capacity and leadership of Mr. President”.
He noted that Oborevwori had publicly declared his foremost political assignment was to deliver President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, and our only mandate is to work for the APC.
“The Gvernor has made it clear that his most important project is the delivery of Mr. President. If we are loyal to him, then we are bound by that declaration,”.
“So securing victory for President Tinubu in 2027 would create broader opportunities for Delta State.”
“Voting and delivering the president will open up vistas of opportunities. It will create more appointments, more empowerment opportunities and greater benefits for our people”.
He said the President policies has increased revenue to states and local governments by enabling them to meet salary obligations and execute development projects.
“Today, with the increased resources available, councils are paying salaries and executing projects. The source of that improvement is the president, who made those resources available,”
He commended President Tinubu for prioritising national interest over personal political considerations, saying the administration had redirected funds previously lost through the subsidy regime.
Funkekeme also alleged that some individuals who benefited from the former subsidy system were responsible for sponsoring criticism and insecurity to undermine the government.
