Police, NSCDC set to enforce Delta anti-grazing law



The Delta State Police command, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other sister agencies have pledged their commitment to enforcing the anti-grazing law in the state.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State had signed the anti-grazing bill into law and consequently inaugurated the Delta Livestock Management Committee (DLMC).

The security agencies made the pledge when the Commissioner for Agriculture /Natural Resources and DLMC Chairman, Mr.Julius Egbedi, led its members on consultation visits to the various security agencies on Thursday in Asaba.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta Command, CP Muhammed Ali, assured the committee of the command’s support, calling for synergy and collective action.

He said, “I am pleased to hear that the committee has been in touch with the traditional rulers, the Miyetti Allah group, farmers, and other critical stakeholders and still consulting before the full implementation of the law.

“The biggest task is in the enforcement of the law and the police can’t do this alone.

“We pray that the various communities would cooperate and allocate lands to cattle dealers to graze their cattle.

“We need to support each other to succeed; the governor that I know is prepared and I want to assure you that the project will work.

“I want to assure you that the support you need, you will get from this office”

Also, the State NSCDC Commandant, Akinsanya Iskilu, said his men are ready to provide the needed security support to ensure peace in the state.

He said, “One of the core mandates of the NSCDC in the agro-rangers; it is to provide physical security to agro-allied industries which include protecting farmers and herders as they carry out their businesses

“A nation that neglects agriculture has neglected development because every development revolves around agriculture”

On his part, the Assistant Director-General of DSS, Ademola Adebiyi, also called for synergy among the various security outfits and assured the committee of intelligence report vital to promoting and sustaining peace in the state.

Earlier, the Commissioner said that the visit was to intimate them of the existing Livestock law and to seek their support for a peaceful implementation to ensure that the herders and farmers in the state go about their businesses without conflict.

He said that since the setting up of the committee by Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, the DLMC has been on consultation visits and meeting with critical stakeholders.

“We have met with traditional rulers, the Miyetri Allah and farmers in Asaba and recently in Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area on a peace-meeting with the Uwheru community and herders but the herders we met are not those in the forest.

“This peace move became necessary to educate them on the law and to stop the situation in Uwheru from degenerating into crisis because some time ago in Uwheru community, 10 persons were killed in the crisis,” he said.

Businessman Shot Dead By Gunmen In Onitsha One Month To His Wedding



A Businessman has died after he was shot by gunmen in Anambra state just hours after he was seen partying with friends, NaijaCover Reports.

The man, identified simply as KC, was seen at the mall On, March 27th, with his fiancée before he was killed.

He was also seen on the same day with his fiancée and friends at a traditional wedding at Aguluzigbo in Anaocha, Anambra State.

He was killed later on Sunday evening, March 27, with his fiancée present.

Gunmen attacked him and he refused to let go of his Venza so he was shot and the men made away with the car.

He was supposed to get married to his fiancée in April, during the Easter holiday.

I’m Married But I Want To Help My Ex Financially



I ended the relationship with My ex due to her bad characters. And then I later got married.
While we were dating I wanted to get my ex a place for her to stay due to d fact Dat she doesn’t have anywhere to go when she graduates.
Both of her parents are divorced and remarried with kids. She can’t go back to her father’s house because he harrases her sexually and his wife his not welcoming. She can’t go to her mother’s house cus her stepfather won’t agree. During d time we were dating she was staying with me for this reason but as soon as she got into school her character changed so I ended it all.
Now think of her predicament I’m thinking of getting her d house I promised so as for her not to go back to her dad’s house. I have the money to do it that’s not a problem.

I’m still having second thoughts though. Abi Make I just use my money package myself

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Friday (today) reassured the people of Ndokwa nation that his administration will remain fair and just to the area with respect to the distribution of the dividends of democracy

The Governor, who was speaking when the leadership of Ikolobie Ndokwa paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Asaba, said the perceived marginalisation of the Ndokwa nation was only an imagination of a few individuals bent on polluting the minds of Ndokwa people in order to discredit his administration.

He cited the Beneku bridge and road project, as well as the Kwale Industrial Park as key development initiatives of the state government, which on completion, would change the narrative of underdevelopment of Ndokwa land, emphasizing that things would soon get better for that part of the state.

While assuring that the projects, and indeed others initiated by his administration across the state, would be completed before the end of his tenure of office, Senator Okowa thanked Ndokwa youths for their peaceful disposition, which had aided the smooth execution of projects in the area.

The Governor commended one of his aides, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, for diligently serving the interest of youths, particularly of the Ndokwa nation, noting that he had always carried the youths along and vigorously sensitizing them on government policies and programmes.

Okowa, who announced the approval of five Special Assistant slots for the visiting youths, stated that Ndokwa sons holding key positions in his cabinet had contributed immensely to the success story of his administration and promised to continue to partner with people of the area in his determination to finish strong.

Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Ikolobie Ndokwa and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, who led the delegation, thanked me Governor for all he had been doing for the people of Ndokwa nation, citing the execution of key projects, including the ongoing Beneku bridge and road project, the Kwale Industrial Park, as well as the appointment of Chief Fidelis Tilije, Chief Festus Ochonogor, Chief Chika Ossai and Sir Monday Onyeme to key positions in government.

Also speaking, the President General of Ikolobie Ndokwa, Comrade Anslem Nzete and spokesperson for the group, Comrade Fidelis Azaka, urged the Governor to prevail on the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to increase the quantum of oil and gas in Ndokwa land in view of the huge reserves of the natural resources in the area, among other requests.

While pledging continued support for the state government, the duo disclosed plans by the group to embark on a sensitization tour of all the wards in Ndokwa land ahead of the 2023 elections.
