Unfortunate Benching of Ukwuani People -By Prof CIC Nwose

Ukwuani people should use their tongue to count their teeth and move forward. We have UFU in Lagos taking care of our people in Western Nigeria. At the home front we are supposed to have Ukwuani Development Union (UDU), just like other ethnic nationalities in Delta State but Ukwuani people who are bent on the unity that doesn’t exist cannot read in between the lines and do the needful because of Ndoshimili. Even when it’s clear that Ndoshimili people are not interested in the so called union with Ukwuani nation, we keep on forcing & dragging the unwilling Horse. Now they formed Ndoshimili Development Union (UDU) to take care of their own and we are still dormantly stagnant, waiting in the name of NDOKWA & NDOKWA NEKU UNION. We were all concerned about the reported low figure of registered voters in Ukwuani and Ndoshimili area and we moved into the field to mobilize & sensitize the people to come out enmasse to register at our own expense (spending our own time & money for the good of Ukwuani and Ndoshimili people) and Ndoshimili Development Union raised #5 Million Naira to support the voters sensitisation & mobilization exercise in Ndokwa East ONLY while Ukwuani nation are left alone, still waiting for the union that is non-existent.
The time to change the name of NDOKWA WEST LGA to UKWUANI CENTRAL or UKWUANI WEST is long overdue. The time to change NDOKWA NEKU UNION to UKWUANI DEVELOPMENT UNION is now. The time to be more focused on developmental needs of Ukwuani nation is now. The time to change Association of Ndokwa Professionals to Association of Ukwuani Professionals is now. The English man notes that “You can only force a Camel to the river but you can’t force it to drink”. Ndoshimili have shown that they are not Ukwuani people and as such not ready for the union. For Ukwuani people to keep forcing the union will only continue to drag Ukwuani backwards. A man bent on forcing a woman who is not interested in him for marriage, to the extent of even wedding her, will never meet his mates in all aspects of LIFE.
