Oshimili South Chairman, Ezeyili List Achievement, Engages 240 Youths As Environmental Marshall

The Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Kelvin Ezeyili has reelout some of his achievements as the chief executive chairman of the council and has empowered over 240 youths as environmental Marshall to enforce compliance for a clean and safe environment.

The local government chairman disclosed this on Friday 24, November 2023 during an interactive session with indigenous correspondence chapel (ICC) in Asaba

Hon Ezeyili who was ably represented by his secretary, Hon. Brendan Iyeh and was flare by Mrs Nwulu Ndidi Hod of legal, revealed that the Oshimili South Local Government Council has always operated an open door Policy.

Ezeyili disclosed that he is proud to say it has a synergy with journalists in the state capital in ensuring the capturing and reporting of accurate and up-to-date activities of the strides and achievements of its administration.

He maintained “true Journalism is all about accuracy, telling it the way it is and until the government institutions and members of the public place the office of Journalism on a high pedestal we might not get the essence of true reportage”.

He continued, ” today most of our youths are scared of venturing into Journalism because of the cruel and unfair manner the fundamental rights of these journalists are trampled on. Policies must be put in place to secure the business of true Journalism and attract more individuals to the career”.

Hon Ezeyili highlighted some of his achievement as includes; constructed ultra-modern legislative complex with the state-of-the-art facilities; renovation of the executive complex with sophicated furnishings and appliances; purchase of 200KVA standby generator to provide uninterrupted power supply to the secretariat.

Others he said; empowerment of youths, widows, indigents and the less privilege with cash and food items, partnering with renowned authors to provide and distribute books on the eradication of cultism to both primary and secondary schools students in the LGA.

Also disclosed that he offset over 60% of outstanding debts owned by contractors by the previous administration and many more.

The local government chairman, however, assured the good people of Oshimili South that the developmental plan of his administration would cut across the entire Local Government Area, just as he reassure ICC of unrelenting support to the N.U J in general in realizing their goals and aspirations.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman of the Chapel, Orusi Kenneth, appreciated the council chairman for his developmental projects across the council especially Asaba, which doubles as the State capital.

Orusi commended the chairman for operating an open door policy and always opening his doors for the chapel anytime it comes knocking.

The Chairman used the medium to inform Hon. Ezeyili, of its One Year Anniversary and Press Week coming up March 2024.
