Dr Charles Olisa, Commissioner representing Ndokwa Nation on the board of DESOPADEC and a son of the ancient Aboh Kingdom, has congratulated the Obi elect of Aboh, Dr Greg Nnamdi Oputa, on his emergence as the next king of Aboh.
In his words – ‘nature abhors vacuum and a successor has to emerge to step into the shoes of the late king whose burial rites ended some time ago in line with the traditions of the people of Aboh.’
Describing Dr Oputa as a well read man and an outstanding humanitarian, the commissioner said with his emergence as the next king, Dr Greg Oputa will now have a bigger and more advantageous platform to upscale the good things he has been doing for the kingdom.
Dr Olisa expressed confidence in the ability of the king elect to restore the glory of the kingship stool of Aboh which at some point in history was the second most powerful monarchy, after the Oba of Benin, in the present Southsouthern and Southeastern Nigeria.
‘My dear cousin and now king elect, it is our prayer all the time that children should be greater than their parents and surpass the achievements of their forebears, may your reign be more glorious than that of our grandfather, King Oputa Il, whose reign projected the kingdom positively.
It is my prayer that your reign will bring peace, progress and unity,” he said.
