In his quest to ensure food security and substanble food supply in Ukwuani, the Ajede led administration emerged one of the best in the 2024 edition of World Food Day Celebration held in Asaba today.
At the event which aimed at promoting sustainable food production, emphasis were made on the importance of Agriculture, and Ukwuani Local Government came top in poultry farming at the 2024 World Food Day celebration. The 25 local governments in Delta State showcased their agricultural produce at the Cenotaph in Asaba.
The success of Ukwuani Local Government at the event encourages other local government areas to prioritizes and invest in the agricultural sector.
Speaking on the victory, the supervisor for Agric, Mr Jeffrey Opone who represented the Executive Chairman Hon Barr CSP Ajede dedicated the success to all farmers in Ukwuani local government.
Mr Opone enjoined all farmers in Ukwuani to embraced Agriculture, just as the capacity chairman has started farmers club in Ukwuani Local Government, so that they can grow what they eat, he stated.
Also speaking, the HOD Agric, Comrade Odigili Abel thanked the council boss for making it possible for Ukwuani to be part of the programme, while stating that Ukwuani has been performing remarkable feats since the 2022 edition of the World Food day celebration.
