Ndokwa Association In America, Atlanta Chapter in collaboration with Greater Tomorrow Children’s Fund donated education materials to pupils of Igbe Primary School, Ogume
Items given to each of the pupils were uniforms, notebooks, biros, pencils, erasers, rulers, bags etc. The colourful ceremony held today at the school premises
Addressing the students Ex international Mr Edema Fuludu said the exercise was made possible by Ex international Mr Paul Lucky Okoku son of the soil. Mr Okoku, chairman, Greater Tomorrow Children’s Fund decided to come to the aid of the students by way of stamping his name in his community and to reduce their plights.
The students, parents and the management of the school were all happy at the development and showered encomiums on both Atlanta Chapter of Ndokwa Association in America and Greater Tomorrow Children’s Fund They promised to do more in subsequent time .
Greater Tomorrow Children’s Fund previously visited Igbe Primary School in 2016 to celebrate Children’s Day with the pupils. During the visit, they provided them with an array of gifts, including school supplies and food items, to support their learning and well-being.
The Headmistress Mrs Onyemunosa expressed her joy. She said she was particularly happy because this was happening during her regime as the Headmistress of the school. “This is sign of more good things to come to the school”.
The PTA Chairman Mr Albert Ojugbeli was very happy at the initiative and for coming to the succour of the pupils with a charge to other members of the community to take a cue.
Speaking to Ndokwa Vanguard from far away Atlanta, Mr Okoku tasks the pupils to take their education seriously and do the community proud. “I was a student like you. So don’t think that it is easy anywhere . If I didn’t show seriousness in my days as a student I probably may not have gotten to the level I have reached in my career. On behalf of the entire Ndokwa Association of Atlanta, “Greater Tomorrow Children’s Fund is humbled, honoured and grateful for the trust placed in us to execute this impactful project.
Education is key,” he intones.
Those that represented the donors were Ex internationals Messrs Edema Fuludu, Mobosa Brodericks, Andrew Utti and Pst Peter Nwosa.
The high point of the ceremony was light refreshment to all the pupils, school management and parents available.
It is worthy of note to do a brief introduction of the collaboration between the Ndokwa Association of Atlanta, USA and the Greater Tomorrow Children’s Fund. The founder and CEO of GTCF, Chief Paul Lucky Okoku, is also a member of the Ndokwa Association of Atlanta.
Paul Lucky Okoku is a former Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Gothia Cup (Sweden – 1980 & 1981) and Dallas Cup (USA – 1982), championship team player, Vice-Captain of the Nigerian Flying Eagles U21 World Cup team (Mexico, 1983), an AFCON silver medalist with the Super Eagles (1984), a member of the 1984 Nigerian Olympic Qualification Team, and a CAF & FIFA-retired soccer player.
The key leaders of this collaboration: Daniel Opene, the President of the Ndokwa Association in America Atlanta Chapter and Chief Attorney Ani Oluku, one of the association’s pillars.
