
The Delta State Police Command has arrested several suspects in connection with armed robbery and cultism, recovering weapons in separate operations conducted on January 17, 2025. The recoveries include a G3 rifle, a pump-action gun, three Beretta pistols, and a locally made firearm.
In Asaba, the Rapid Response Squad arrested two young men during a stop-and-search operation. Subsequent investigations uncovered an array of firearms at their residence.
In Agbarho, a 40-year-old suspect was apprehended after police discovered a G3 rifle and pump-action gun hidden in the ceiling of his home.
Meanwhile, in Bomadi, a collaborative effort between police and local vigilantes led to the arrest of a suspected cultist, Felix Emizibo, who was found with a fabricated Beretta pistol.
The Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, lauded the officers for their commitment and reassured Deltans of the command’s resolve to ensure their safety. He called on residents to continue providing valuable information to aid the police in tackling crime effectively.
