The Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government
Council, Honourable Christian Onogba on Wednesday has said he will quit politics if former Deputy Senator President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege wins three local governments in 2027 Delta governorship election.
Hon. Onogba stated this in Asaba during an interview at the reception ceremony for Senator Ighoyota Amori, the newly sworn in Chief Adviser to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori .
Onogba while describing the appointment of Senator Amori as a well deserved, said it would change the dynamics of politicking in the state.
Hon. Christian Onogba described Chief Amori as one politician that has the clout, and the scale to navigate the political water of Delta and comes up with results.
He said, “I can assure you, with the emergence of Chief Amori, as Chief Adviser to the State Governor, a lot will change, he is a seasoned politician”.
On defection, the chairman noted that those who are defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party in the state have not contributed to the success of the party in the last election.
According to him, “what is important is this, everyone who has defected now, what was their contributions to the success of PDP in the last election? Everybody defecting now from what I know they have never contributed to the success of PDP in the last election, so head or tail, we lost nobody”.
On retaining power in 2027, the local government council chairman said convincingly, come 2027 general election, PDP will win, adding that the MORE AGENDA of the state governor is reaching out to every nook and cranny of Delta.
On Omo-Agege, he said whatever Omo-Agege was doing meant nothing to the PDP, noting that in the last generation election, out of 25 local governments, he won just four, saying such a person should not be taken serious.
“ I can tell you for sure in the next election, Omo-Agege cannot win more than one local government, quote me”
” If Omo-Agege wins three local government areas, I will quit politics,” he said.
