The Commissioner for special projects, Barr. Funyei Manager has expressed satisfaction at the speedy progress made so far by the construction giant company, Julius Berger at the Enerhen Julius flyover, just he commended the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his infrastructural development vision across the state.
The commissioner also assured Deltans that the flyover projects would be delivered according to the stipulated time.
Manager disclosed this in an interview at the state Secretariat in Asaba, Delta state capital, said he was confidence in the construction giant in delivering the projects.
The commissioner noted that the construction giant company is a well-known company in Nigeria; however, this will be the first time Delta is working directly with Delta state government, under the leadership of Oborevwori’s administration”
According to him; “Julius Berger is a well-known construction giant in Nigeria. This is their first time working directly with the Delta State Government, though they have been in Delta before, so far, I have had no reason to correct or review their work because my engineers have checked everything, and the quality meets our standards and His Excellency, the Governor, made a great decision by bringing in a company like Julius Berger that pays attention to detail”.
“They are progressing at a very fast rate and always keep to time. If they say they will reach a certain stage by a certain date, they do. If there is any delay, they provide a valid reason, and it is understandable.
” Since Julius Berger is handling both the design and construction, any adjustments needed are done efficiently without unnecessary back-and-forth”
On the issue of compensation for affected property owners, Manager confirmed that all compensations and relocations had been settled long ago.
He also commended the community and motorists and for their support and patience with state government
He said; “the people of Enerhen Junction down to First Marine Gate have been very supportive and understanding. Even though we started our project five months later than the DSC and PTI Junction flyover due to some unforeseen circumstances, the community has been helpful. I urge them to continue supporting the governor because they can see that he is delivering on his promises.”
