The Vice Chancellor, Delta State University,Abraka, Professor Samuel Asagba, has said his wish is to build on the achievements and visions of the founding fathers, just as he harped on his visions and mission as the new Vice Chancellor.
Professor Asagba disclosed this at the 17th Convocation Press Conference held at the school permanent site, Abraka, Delta state.
Asagba noted that his visions and mission is to transform the state-owned University through high-quality education, sustainable development, strong governance, Innovation and ICT and inclusive stakeholder engagement at all levels.
Professor Samuel said, enhancing education and research will prioritize high-quality education, saying with implementation of stricter quality control measures, and recruiting highly qualified staff, updated curricula to reflect in-demand skills
He added that he will Leverage Al in curriculum, teaching, and research, foster industry collaboration and global partnerships to improve DELSU global competitiveness and technology.
On sustainable infrastructure development, the Vice Chancellor said he will implement the University master plan, to construct modern lecture halls, labs, workshops, and offices, and rnsure reliable water and electricity supply, Integrate renewable energy sources like solar and hydropower
He added that he will ensure there is transparency and inclusive leadership, and create strong staff-student committees, promote financial integrity and efficiency.
Professor Samuel Asagba also noted that peace and security is topmost priority
