The Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps (AVC), Delta State, on Sunday, December 21, 2025, held its end-of-year party in a lively atmosphere to mark the successful completion of its activities for the year and to celebrate the dedication and commitment of its members.
The event, which took place at the State Anti-Cult Office (SACU) in Ibusa, Delta State, brought together volunteers, executive members, and invited guests who have worked tirelessly in the fight against cultism and other social vices across the state. The gathering provided an opportunity for reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment towards ensuring community safety and peace.
Speaking at the event, the State Commander of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps, Mr. Chijioke Smart, who is also a senior lecturer at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, commended members of the corps for their selfless service, bravery, and discipline throughout the year.
Mr. Smart noted that the achievements recorded by the organization were made possible through teamwork, vigilance, and strong collaboration with security agencies and host communities. He encouraged volunteers to remain steadfast and law-abiding in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the fight against cultism requires consistency, integrity, and sustained community support.
Highlights of the celebration included goodwill messages from invited guests, as well as music and dance performances. Members also used the occasion to socialize, share experiences, and strengthen the bond of unity within the corps.
Dignitaries present at the occasion included the State Anti-Cult Unit Commander, Delta State Police Command, CSP Rex Enweliku, Ambassador Emmanuel Nwaemeka, the Officer in Charge of Discipline, among others.
The event ended on a joyful note, with participants expressing optimism and renewed determination to intensify efforts against cult-related activities in the coming year, while continuing to promote peace and security across the state.
