The Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Chief Peter Uviejitobor, has promised sustainable development in the oil and gas sector through policies, programmes in line with the M.O.R.E Agenda of the Governor Sheriff’s Administration for meaningful development in the state.
Uviejitobor stated this, Wednesday, on his assumption of office as Commissioner for oil and gas, Delta State.
He said that he would work in collaboration with the Federal Government and other critical stakeholders of the multi-national oil corporations towards ensuring peace and improved production in the oil and gas sector.
The Oil and Gas Commissioner opined that he would do his best to implement the policies and programmes of government in the Oil and Gas Industry for the growth and development of the state.
The commissioner said he would re-organise and strengthen the Oil and Gas Industry in the state to boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
“Your support and cooperation are crucial in achieving the above goals, adding that he would work in synergy with the Permanent Secretary, Directors and staff of the ministry,” He added.
He charged the staff of the ministry to be more proactive, productive, transparent and effective in carrying out their duties.
Uviejitobor appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for finding him worthy for his appointment as the Commissioner for Oil and Gas.
Mr. Frank Omoko, Permanent Secretary, congratulated Chief Uviejitobor on his appointment as Commissioner and promised the cooperation of management and staff towards ensuring the implementation of government’s policies and programmes in the ministry.
