As Delta State marks its 34th anniversary, former Commissioner for Energy and current Executive Assistant to the Governor on Renewable Energy, Barrister Newworld Safugha and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Simeon Daregha have commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and past leaders of the state for their contributions to its development and transformation.
Safugha, in a goodwill message, said the effective and efficient leadership of successive governors had turned Delta into the pride of Nigeria.
He noted that the creation of the state had accelerated growth in key areas including infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, peaceful coexistence, human capital development, sports, political maturity, and unity among the diverse ethnic groups.
He attributed the state’s steady progress to obedience and respect for leadership, collective support for those in positions of authority, and the people’s confidence in governance.
Highlighting the achievements of the present administration, Safugha said Governor Oborevwori had within two years delivered landmark, people-oriented projects “to the glory of God,” stressing that Delta is blessed with good leaders worthy of celebration. The governor’s aide thanked all Deltans for their contributions to the growth of the state and urged them to sustain their confidence in the leadership. He also encouraged citizens to continually reflect on ways to advance the collective well-being of the state.
Similarly, Hon. Daregha, said there was every reason for the people to celebrate and glorify God for His faithfulness to the state, communities, and families over the past three decades.
He noted that Delta had been blessed with visionary leaders whose dynamic qualities have added great value to the state’s growth.
According to him, the people’s sense of collective responsibility has been the driving force behind the massive development recorded across all parts of the state.
The governor’s aide urged Deltans to continue giving their best to their communities and always put the state’s interest first in order to actualize the dreams of the founding fathers and leave enduring legacies for generations yet unborn.
