The Apex Association Of Anioma Indigene, ( AAA) at the weekend holds her maiden edition for South-South/ South East culture, heritage, tourism, and business summit.
The maiden edition theme: “South-South/South East Cultural Heritage Extravaganza 2024 took place at Asaba, Delta state capital.
In his address, the chairman of the occasion, Dr. Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu, thanked the organizers for giving him the opportunity to discuss culture heritage.
He noted that the South-South and South East culture heritage, tourism and business summit is a great initiative that aimed to promote rich cultural values and create economic opportunities for young people.
He commended Apex Association of Anioma Indigene for their bold initiative in organising the event, saying ” in today’s world, where dominant culture threaten to erase weaker ones, we need to adopt a business-oriented approach and effective communication to safeguard our heritage”.
He added that to preserve our cultural identity, we need to develop local languages, encourage traditional arts and music that showcase our unique Identity, and leverage our cultural heritage as a valuable business resource.
Also, the keynote speaker, Hon. Engr. Juanamechee Governor, who was represented by Mrs. Cynthia Governor commended the organizer of the event while noting that cultural heritage promotes universal respect for cultural rights by all.
Governor maintained that as people; ” we must guard and protect our heritage from all forms of neglect and threats that pose challenges to the preservation of our most treasured landmarks, artifacts, and traditions”.
She recommended speaking of languages as most important aspect of preserving and protecting culture.
The convener of the Apex Association of Anioma Indigene, Apostle Patrick Nwanze, president general said the ” the cultural heritage extravaganza 2024, is a precursor to the South-South and South East culture heritage tourism and business summit for Q1 2024.
He noted that the summit is aimed to preserve and exchange cultural heritage, foster business partnership and investments, enhance tourism infrastructure and services and empowers youths to embrace their cultural identity.
The event features different cultural dance, award presentation, drama, and panel discussion.
