Following the world global climate change, the Delta state government has said it would plant more trees to tackle gas emission from tricycles, motor-cycles and commercial motorists across the 25-local government areas with the aim of absorbing harmful gases that would cause damages to the ozone layer.
The Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ejiro Jamani disclosed this to newsmen at Asaba while clarifying the essence of the introduction of “the Gas Emission Ticket” to tricycles Association in the state.
The Honorable commissioner explained that the MORE AGENDA of the state governor was to ensure there is cleaner, healthier and sustainable environment for Deltans.
Jamani noted that with the planting of more trees across the 25 local government areas in the state, Deltans and her environment will be protected from the hotness of the ozone layer.
The commissioner, however, urged Deltans to support the government’s efforts in tree-planting activities, just he assured that the government would increase tree planting, especially in major cities like Warri, Sapele, and Ughelli.
