In line with the Commandant General’s directive on zero tolerance for illegal bunkering activities in the country, the immediate proactive intelligence gathering architecture enacted by the Delta State Commandant, SULEIMAN A. JIMOH (CC) has further led to the discovery of an illegal bunkering site in Mereje Community in Orerokpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
On October 25, 2023, at about 1700hrs, the State Commandant directed the Warri Anti-Vandal Patrol Team to immediately proceed to the site to ascertain, investigate and possibly set it ablaze.
Upon arrival at the scene, the suspected vandals sighted the team and took to their heels into the nearest river. The team after carrying out thorough search discovered there was no other suspect in sight, they were directed to set the site ablaze, due to its location; the directive was carried out successfully.
He further reiterated the resolve of NSCDC Delta State Command to stamp out all illegal bunkering sites still operating in the state and warned other enemies of the economy of Nigeria to relocate or face the full weight of the law under his watch.
